Airport Information

Chicago is served by two international airports: O’Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW). Both are at a similar distance from the city of Chicago, so feel free to choose the one more convenient for you. Below you can find travel information from these to the conference venue.

From O’Hare to Chicago

By CTA Train

Look for the CTA train directions at the airport. Caution: don’t follow the Metra train signs. The CTA Blue line is the only one serving O’Hare airport and runs 24 hours per day. Exit on the Clark/Lake station (~40 minutes, 16 stops). From there you can take a 20 minutes nice walk (1.5 miles), a cab (around $7), or bus #124 direction Navy Pier on Wacker (Upper) & Dearborn. The price of the CTA is $5, which you pay at the pay kiosks right before the airport CTA station, and the bus transfer should be included within the CTA ticket fare.

By Cab/Taxi

At the exit of the airport terminals you will easily find the cab station. Rides from O’Hare to Chicago may cost around $50, although it will vary on the traffic, and may take from 30 minutes to 1 hour or more depending on the traffic.

By Car

Please note that downtown parking may be expensive. The hotel will offer discounted rates of $40/24h and $16/day for non-registered guests.

A car ride (around 18 miles) will usually take from 30 minutes to 1h or more depending on the traffic. Take the I90 Kennedy Expressway toward downtown Chicago. Exit off at Ohio Street, exit 50. Drive 11 blocks until you reach Fairbanks Court. The Doubletree Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile is on the left hand side.

By Shuttle

The Go Airport Shuttle Service costs $30 one way single person, $40 for 2 persons, and $15/person for parties of 3 or more travelling together. Vans depart from O’Hare every 30 minutes from 6am to 10pm (every 15 minutes during peak hours). Vans depart from lower level of the baggage claim area Terminals 1E, 2E, or 3E. From Midway to Chicago

By CTA Train

Take the CTA Orange line towards the Loop, and change to the Red line on Roosevelt towards Howard (20 minutes, 7 stops). Exit the Red line train at Grand (7 minutes, 5 stops), and walk for about 0.5 miles on Grand Avenue towards the east, and turn left on Columbus. You will find the hotel one block away. The Orange line trains run from 4am to 1am and the cost of the CTA ride is $3.

Take the I55 – Stevenson Expressway Eastbound toward the downtown area. Exit off I-90/94 Westbound. Drive 1 mile and exit off at the Ohio Street Exit (#50). Drive 11 blocks until you reach Fairbanks Ct. The Doubletree Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile is on the left hand side. The ride (around 13 miles) time should be between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the traffic.

By Shuttle

The Go Airport Shuttle Service costs $24 per person one way, and $32 for groups of two. The vans depart every 20-40 minutes in the lower level by Gate 3. Further information: (+1) 800-654-7871 / www.airportexpress.com.

Private Transportation / Limousines

Prices normally start at $70-$120 one way, but vary highly depending on time of day and amount of people. Please contact directly the company offering the services for accurate pricing. Here you have a few of them:
